What’s in it for me?

Our members identify the scarcity of skilled workers as their foremost obstacle. Through the inclusion of Opportunity Works© we aim to establish a stream of capable individuals for your entry-level manufacturing roles from the untapped workforce in our region. Opportunity Works© uses the WorkAdvance model dedicated to attracting candidates without prior manufacturing experience and actively targets those who are not currently seeking employment in this field.

WorkAdvance offers career pathways to individuals seeking sought-after entry-level positions in Lorain, Erie, and Huron counties. Our program links job-seekers to training, job placement, and support services, supporting their entry into the thriving manufacturing sector, with potential for career progression, all without any cost to participants. Additionally, opportunities for upskilling are provided to assist employees in advancing within their current roles. This initiative is sustained through a three-year grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration’s Good Jobs Challenge program.

Joining this initiative offers community-based organizations access to resources, networking, and skill development programs. It boosts visibility and recognition, leading to potential partnerships opportunities. Participation aligns with Federal, State, and community goals, fostering a sense of purpose and deeper connection.
